Arthurs Day 2013 lineupTake Willy Wonka, replace him with Arthur Guinness and swap chocolate tour with a creative showcase curated by Block T including Jazz, design installations, food extravaganza and a rather popular band from Swords.

What you have is the Arthurs Day creative showcase down in the Guinness Storehouse which will see 500 lucky golden ticket holders be treated to a midday performance by Kodaline ahead of their surprise gig in a pub that evening. The storehouse will be transformed into a hub of culinary fun, music performances and design installations across the seven stories.

For the historian in you, the original lease, signed by Arthur Guinness, will take centre stage on the ground floor. Calligraphers will also be on hand allowing visitors to create their own ‘Arthuresque’ signature and take home a replica of the 9,000 year lease. There will be an interactive 3D carnival setting of St. Stephen’s Green, transporting visitors back to 1880 when Sir Arthur Edward Guinness gifted the park to the city of Dublin.

Other strange happenings will include Hogan’s Bar hosting a lunchtime SurfingFitYoga class, the Roaring Donkey in Cobh will exhibit photography from the Imageing in Cobh project. Over in Sligo in The Strand bar, a pop-up show with Irish made designs by Pretty Owls. The Coachman in Tipperary has teamed up with the Tipperary Food Producers network for a unique long table dinner and showcase.

Golden Tickets for the exclusive Kodaline performance at midday in Guinness Storehouse will be rewarded to Guinness fans all over Ireland, via Guinness Social Media, the Guinness Storehouse loyalty programme and 2FM from Monday 16th September.

Guinness Storehouse will open from 9.30am until 6pm on Arthur’s Day and standard entrance rates apply to all non Golden Ticket holders.
