Cork crooner Cian Ducrot best-known for the hits ‘I’ll Be Waiting’ and ‘All For You’ feat Ella Henderson won a GRAMMY last night as part of the songwriting team behind SZA’s hit ‘Saturn’ which appeared on the deluxe version of her ‘SOS’ album last year.
The track which won Best R&B Song at the 67th annual Grammy Awards in LA last night was a global hit landing in the Top 30 in the UK, USA and Ireland. Ducrot who co-wrote the song with Rob Bisel, Jared Solomon, and Scott Zhang also features on backing vocals.
Unfortunately other Irish artists were not so lucky in LA last night with Fontaines D.C.’s fourth album ‘Romance’ bizarrely losing out to The Rolling Stones for Best Rock Album, while their track ‘Starburster’ trailed St. Vincent’s ‘All Born Screaming’ for Best Alternative Music Performance.
Belfast’s Jordan Adetunji’s breakthrough hit ‘Kehlani’ lost out in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category to ‘3’ from Rapsody Featuring Erykah Badu. Meanwhile, Conductor Elaine Kelly lost out in the Best Choral Performance category for Choir of Trinity Wall Street, Artefact Ensemble & Novus NY’s Sheehan: Akathist to Donald Nally for ‘Ochre’
Following his GRAMMY success Cian Ducrot will be refocussing on his solo career with the recently released single ‘Who’s Making You Feel It’ heralding in the next chapter of his career
“The song is basically one big ‘Tell me, is this new guy better than me?” It’s about how we all find ourselves stalking our exes even if we say we don’t. And when you inevitably notice them moving on with other people all of a sudden that feeling of jealousy and curiosity pops up and you just need to know ‘Who is it?’, ‘Who’s making you feel better than I did?’ and ‘I notice it looks like your life is amazing and you’re really making the most of it all but also DO YOU MISS MEEEE?!; The song is also a bit sarcastic in a way of asking this person if they have gotten everything they dreamed of after leaving you and that you ‘hope’ they did,” says Ducrot who plays Live at The Marquee in Cork on 19 July 2025.
