Cork punk poets WASPS vs HUMANS have returned with their new single ‘Death Chamber Visits’. Never ones to shy away from politics the track highlights the barbaric practice of capital punishment which the American psyche can’t seem to free itself from.

‘Death Chamber Visits’ recounts the real life story of Richard Glossip, who has spent 27 years on death row, surviving nine execution dates some of which went so far into the process before he was granted a reprieve, that he has eaten his ‘last meal’ 3 times

‘The inhumanity of one human taking another’s life—murder is still murder, no matter who carries it out. Two wrongs don’t make a right.’ notes veteran musician Carl Plover who has been ensconced in the punk scene for many years

The video for ‘Death Chamber Visits’ revisits the last meals of notorious criminals to highlight the disturbing practice of capital punishment that is carried out in many so called inlightened western civilisations.

Recorded and edited by Cormac O’Connor from The Maple Rooms , the video was filmed at the Cork Arts Theatre in Cork City. Wasps vs Humans will play launch shows in Cork and Dublin this weekend. Dates and ticket details below.
