Columbia Mills are gearing up for the release of their second album ‘CCTV’ later this year with the release of their dark, synth-laden new single Understand.

Understand follows the trend set by previous singles Strange Game and Who Am I Supposed To Talk To Now? with Columbia Mills continuing to progress beyond their Jesus and Mary Chain-esque early years into more mature Interpol meets The National style soundscapes.

‘Understand’ is a song about coming to terms with watching a friend self-destruct. The frustration of realising the warning signs were there when given the benefit of hindsight. Could I have done more or is it possible to save somebody when they fall into this mode?” says principle songwriter, Fiachra Treacy.

Columbia Mills will play a special stripped back show at The Ruby Sessions on Feb 18th ahead of a full show in The Button Factory on April 28th (detailss below). Understand gets a full release tomorrow, but you can listen to it now on GoldenPlec.

Columbia Mills play The Button Factory on April 24, 2020. Tickets €15.00
