CMAT has shared the final teaser track ahead of the release of her debut album ‘If My Wife New I’d Be Dead’ which is set for release on March 4th. Every Bottle Is My Boyfriend is a candid overview of CMAT’s ability to hover over the self-destruct button.
“This is a song about being defiantly chaotic, because being that, an agent of chaos, is something quite defiant for a girl to do. It almost didn’t make the album. But then I managed to shoehorn in a line about the GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association) and I felt happy it was representative of my drinking habits.”
There’s a decidedly alt-rock undercurrent to Every Bottle Is My Boyfriend which is reminiscent in places of Manic Street Preachers storming beaches in the early ’00s . This further highlights CMAT’s versatility as a songwriter who is comfortable operating in numerous genres with ease.
