Clockwork Apple returns again on June 18th in Whelans, here’s the full SP.

Between the ash cloud, lack of money and dismal weather we’ve been having of late, the summer has yet to really stretch it’s lovely warm arms out for an embrace – so Clockwork Apple has decided to bring you it’s own ray of sunshine in the form of The Gandhis, BellaJane and Captain Kennedy on June 18th, Upstairs in Whelans!

Dublin popsters The Gandhis are well known for their humour and ability for crafting musical ditties that bop along nicely, infused with harmonies from all members of the band – reflecting the sense of group fun and ease also abundant in live shows. With the new single “Primrose Lane” following the success of “Don’t you want to be loved by me?” and “Guy Like Me” from the 2009 album “You are My Friend” The Gandhis have shown their label 1969 that they were right to sign them after releasing just one single back in 2008!

Providing support are Captain Kennedy, the superb merchants of blues from the North and BellaJane – recently profiled on phantom’s I-con show and described by Le Cool as “somewhat reminiscent of a lonely Regina Spektor getting drunk and winding up in a smoky old jazz bar…” all rounded out by “beautifully evocative vocals.” The EP “No Strings Attached has received airplay on phantom and seen BellaJane appear on “best of lists” for 2010.

Doors 8pm, €10 admission – June 18th Upstairs Whelans.
