The delightful Cathy Davey has some new information worth sharing with all her fans out there. First of all, she has worked a lovely seasonal version the track ‘Bad Weather’ which she recorded live in St. Mary of the Angles Church with the Dublin Gospel Choir.

It’s a lovely tune which has the warmth of an Eartha Kitt vocal mixed with the glorious layering from the Gospel Choir produce a gorgeous reworking of the track taken from her acclaimed album ‘The Nameless’. The track is available on iTunes if you fancy treating yourself to an early Christmas present -> Cathy Davey – Bad Weather.

The second piece of good news is that she will return to the Dublin stage for the first time in 18 months which is far too long if you ask us. She will take up a three night residency in Whelans on successive Thursday, starting on February 2nd.

Each night will have a unique format, first a full band show featuring music from her three albums to date. The second will be a reprise of ‘Songs That Scare Children show and Heroes and the final show will see Cathy singing songs of her favourite artists from the 40’s,50’s and 60’s such as Marlene Dietrich, Julie London and Jane Russell.

All in all there is good enough reason to be grabbing tickets for all three shows.
