Having released critically acclaimed debut album ‘The Believer’ in 2013, Cat Dowling’s solo and collaborative work has landed her acclaim in Ireland and beyond – she has lent her voice to a track featured in the ABC drama How To Get Away With Murder.
Dowling returns with the swaggering rock of Trouble, featuring booming drums and jagged guitar chords that lend a touch of Americana to the track – coming to fruition with a satisfying guitar solo over a hypnotic bass riff. The release comes ahead of an upcoming album planned for release later this year.
“Trouble is a song with a big swagger about finding a voice. It’s a song of freedom and redemption,” says Dowling of the track.
“I write songs with no plan. I like the words and the song to land on me first. Trouble is a song with a big swagger about refusing to apologise for oneself anymore. It’s about finding a voice. It’s a song of freedom and redemption.”
Trouble is currently available for streaming.
