This year’s Wider Than Pictures series in Collins Barracks has an abundance of nostalgia on offer with performances from artists such as Deacon Blue, The The, James Blunt and Gossip lined up to appear this August. However, TikTok sensations Cat Burns and Sam Tompkins will open the series with a far more contemporary sound.

Burns, who shot to fame following the success of her 2020 hit single Go – which later became a duet with Sam Smith – is gearing up for the release of her debut album ‘early twenties’ is on July 12th. The Brit School graduate has amassed over 400 million streams on Spotify and a million followers on TikTok.

Like Burns, Sam Tompkins went from Busking on the streets of his hometowm to finding fame via TikTok. Since 2021, Tompkins has risen to become one of the fastest-selling British musicians of his generation, with four million monthly listeners on Spotify, a combined social media following of more than 2.2m and famous fans from Drake and Justin Bieber, to Sam Smith and Fred Again.

Tompkin’s Wider Than Pictures appearance will also follow the release of his debut album, ‘Hi, My Name Is Insecure’ on May 26th featuring Phones in Heaven and latest release Numb.
