Ahead of their upcoming UK and Irish tour supporting NewDad, Cork’s Cardinals have released their heaviest song to date ‘The Burning of Cork’ which tells the story of British forces attempting to destroy Cork in 1920.

“The song takes its name from the act of terror inflicted upon Cork City by the British Army’s Black and Tan forces in December 1920. It’s the record at its heaviest and most menacing,” explain the band of the second single to be drawn from their upcoming debut album ‘Masquerade’ which lands on Feb 13th 2026 on So Young Records.

‘The Burning of Cork’ follows recent soundtrack appearances on Netflix’s ‘House of Guinness’ and EA Sport’s ‘Skate’ series and a busty summer supporting Fontaines D.C. Wunderhorse and The Pogues.

‘Masquerade’ will be released on all physical formats including a Rough Trade exclusive Galaxy vinyl, Retail and Artist store variants as well as CD and cassette (exclusively via the band’s store). Those in Australia will also be able to order an exclusive edition via Impressed.
