Following a performance and interview alongside her father, funeral director David McGowan on RTE One’s Tommy Tiernan Show – Sligo’s BRÍDÍN shares her ‘Ocean of Stars’ EP. As she’s the fourth generation of her family to play traditional Irish music, the EP is deeply rooted in the history of the genre, whilst also employing elements of modern production such as the crisp drumming, sparse synths and delayed guitar notes on Wysteria.

Arguably the EP’s most magnetic track Floating sees BRÍDÍN delivering a hypnotic vocal performance alongside the warm plucks of the harp, all buoyed by danceable syncopated claps that give the piece it’s forward momentum.

“I’m so excited to have this EP out, as I’ve been working on it for a while now getting it right,” says BRÍDÍN.

“I’ve met so many incredible musicians along the way that I’m lucky to have worked with on my music. I couldn’t be more pleased with the result.

“From hearing them in my head as an idea, to watching them grow was magic and so exciting. I hope ‘Ocean of Stars’ EP can bring some happiness and calm to people in such a challenging time.”
