Formed in 2002 and perhaps best known for their work with Ed Sheeran on international mega-hits Galway Girl and Nancy Mulligan, Beoga have made a name for themselves for their blend of Irish trad instrumentation with elements of modern electronic production.

The group continues to break from trad convention on their new ‘Breathe EP’, which features distorted electric guitar on the track Disarray and electronic vocal chops and samples on the title track. The EP is accompanied by a pristinely shot video for Breathe depicting the band performing the track.

“The record started out with fragments of ideas,” says singer Niamh Dunne of the EP.

“In the last few years as a band musically we’ve taken a lot of twists and turns; we figured an instrumental EP would give us the opportunity to bring everything together in terms of a sound that
captures where we’ve come from, as well as where we are now.”

Beoga will also be playing an online live stream show from The Limelight in Belfast on Saturday 17 April, tickets available here.
