Belfast artist Niall McDowell has shared details surrounding his forthcoming debut album ‘Put Your Hands Where I Can See Them’, on October 24th via Irish label TULLE. ‘Put Your Hands Where I Can See Them’, was produced by Chris W. Ryan (Just Mustard, Robocobra Quartet, NewDad) and draws on the influence of Arthur Russell and Laurie Anderson.
The album is previewed by new single ‘I Know A Woman’, is an ode to the queer women in McDowell’s life. “I Know A Woman is a song dedicated to all of the queer women in my life and the wisdom they’ve given me over the years, wisdom that I find very hard to apply to my own relationships. I also wanted it to feel like a traditional folk song both in my songwriting and production as a way of rewriting and queering history”
