Ahead of the release of their second album, The Whole Damn Cake, on 17th October 2025 via Alcopop! Records. Derry duo Beauty Sleep have shared new single ‘Send It Out To Sea’.

Known for their carefree, colourful tracks such as ‘BIG + BAD’ and ‘Radical Happiness’, ‘Send It Out To Sea’ finds the duo of Cheylene Murphy and Ryan McGroarty ditching their self-proclaimed “radical alt-pop” style in favour of something far more dark and cathartic.

Written during a road trip from the most northerly point of Ireland (Malin Head) to the most southerly (Mizen Head), ‘Send It Out To Sea’ is a song about telling your deepest secrets to the ocean and casting them out to sea.

“There’s certain experiences I don’t think I’ve ever processed, but the waves, the sea, the horizon coax them out of me. This song is about that feeling,” offers Cheylene Murphy of the track which showcases a more introspective side to the colourful outfit. ‘Send It Out To Sea’ comes with a video filmed at Kinnego Bay in Donegal, near Inishowen where both their families are from.

To celebrate the release of The Whole Damn Cake, on 17th October 2025 via Alcopop! Records, Beauty Sleep will play a series of shows in Ireland and the UK including a special launch show in The Empire, Belfast on November 20th 2025. Full details below
