‘Battle For the Lake’ Kitesurfing and Music Festival for Achill Island

If sun (hopefully!), sand, kites, surf-boards and good tunes are your thing then get yourself off to Achill Island for one, some or all of the above! Next weekend the island plays host to the finale of the Irish Kitesurfing Tour Competition at this year’s “Battle for the Lake” Music and Kite Festival on September 28^th & 29^th.

Considered one of the best locations in the world for kite surfing, Achill Island’s Keel Lake will be transformed as the best kitesurfers from around the globe descend to showcase their spectacular skills.

For the first year in its 4 year history the 2013 “Battle for the Lake” will feature a  two-night Music Festival, with fifteen bands performing over both nights, including Mundy, Viking Project, Swing Gamin, Leanne Harte, Cathy, Aogh & DJ Manu and more.

There’ll also be a BBQ & Food Village on the go if you don’t fancy packing your own sand-filled sandwiches, a Kids Zone, funfair, and a Kids Kite Competition – it all sounds like a winning formula
