The Broadcasting Association of Ireland (BAI) recently announced the closing dates for applications to Sound & Vision – The Broadcasting Funding Scheme in 2013.
The Broadcasting Scheme is designed with the objective of increasing public access at national, local and community levels to high quality television and sound broadcasting. It will do this by offering funding to successful broadcasters and independent producers in order to allow them to create programming based on a variety of themes, in both English and Irish.
During 2013, three open rounds will operate, in which funding of up to €3.5 million will be available towards the creation of television and/or radio programmes. The scheme will be moving to an online application system for 2013, so from this January, applicants will have an option to apply via email or online, but both the June and September submissions for 2013 will be online only.
2013 closing dates are as follows;
31st January – email or online applications; decisions announced at the end of April;
6th June – online applications; decisions announced at the beginning of September ;
19th September – online applications; decisions announced in December
