After the huge success of last years Arthurs Day celebrations, the day will return again this year in what is surely to be greeted with smiles all around Ireland. It will return on September 23rd 2010 from Donegal to Kerry they hope to get the whole island celebrating.

This year they look set to have Snow Patrol topping their bill with Paulo Nutini and Jose Gonzalez.

Also on the bill are The View, We Have Band, MILK, Broken Records, Mick Flannery, The Rags, John Spillane, Jay Sean, The Hoosiers, Slow Club, The Maccabees, The Magic Numbers, Sharon Shannon, The High Kings, The Chapters, The Dirty 9’s, The Dirty Epics and HEATHERS.

Guiness are also looking for 100 up and coming bands to join the likes of Snow Patrol and Paulo Nutini on the billing.

Applications for this close on 8th of July 2010 so only a month or so to enter so get your act together if your interested. They will be holding local showcases of the bands called “Our Thursdays“.

Local Showcases
For the first three thursdays 2 bands will be selected to play in each pub. Perform in front of friends, peers and patrons. Spectators will vote who makes it through to the final on August 5th. The Final will have one band selected and will get to perform on Arthurs Day.

Regional Showcases
Regional Showcases will be taken from the 100 bands from local pubs with 4 regional shows in late august. Snow patrol and industry experts will be checking these out for acts to work with.

National Showcase
This is held early September, Most promising bands will play Studio venue’s across Cork and Galway for the potential to play with Snow Patrol at St. James Gate on Arthurs Day.
