Kildare bedroom pop specialist April is back with ‘TV Show’ the latest preview track from her upcoming EP, ‘An Axe to Grind’ set for release later this year via the uber cool Fader Label. The track is part rose-tinted whimsy, part melancholic reminiscence exploring the haze of heartbreak; building effortlessly from its dreamy alt-country intro into a vivid, max-pop Taylor Swift-esque chorus before it suddenly drops to silence and April laments: “You told me that / Was all the time that we had.”

“‘TV show’ ended up feeling like a dream. It’s about this feeling I tend to experience, this kind of blurring between reality and fantasy — especially when it comes to love,” explains April of the follow-up to recent single Puppy. “I fell in love and when it was over I wondered if it was even real. It felt like I had left my body and just come back to reality. Sonically this song really expresses that for me, it feels kind of seasick. It’s vulnerable and a real piece of myself.”
