Well here’s a big double dollop of Alt-J related news. The band have today announced that they will be releasing the follow-up to their critically-acclaimed Mercury Prize-winning debut ‘An Awesome Wave,’ as well an extensive tour that includes a pit-stop in The O2 in Dublin.
‘This Is All Yours’ will be released in Ireland on the 19th of September on Infectious records, less than a week before they play their biggest Irish show to date. This album will be the first without the band’s former bassist Gwil Sainsbury who made the ‘personal decision’ to leave the group earlier this year. This departure, coupled with the huge weight of expectation that the success of their debut has generated, will make ‘This Is All Yours’ an intriguing listen.
Along with the news of this new release, the band have announced both a European and North American tour for this autumn. This includes an appearance at The O2 on September 27th. Tickets are priced at €31.50 are go on sale this Friday 13th at 9am. The band have previously played at The Olympia and The Academy 2, and this latest show further highlights the meteoric rise of this group.
