Originating in Donegal, Eyes of Vegas are a traditional four-piece band who have their sights set on making it big in the Irish music scene. . They claim to have many influences, both old and new, but on first listen to their debut E.P, Every Other Colour, which was released in late October of last year, their most obvious influence is undoubtedly that of Kings of Leon as singer, Carl McNelis, provides  deep, gravelly vocals reminiscent of Caleb Followill. Every Other Colour is an interesting debut from a band who clearly know what their strengths are and put them to good use. Guitar riffs are unfalteringly catchy and are powerfully backed up by the skilled drumming of Pauric McHugh.

I am unequivocal in my belief that the stand out tune on this E.P is second track, Out Of Town. This song shows off all of Eyes of Vegas’ talents and perfectly portrays their potential to achieve a lot of success. However, steering away from the unreserved praise for a moment, the band describe themselves as an ‘original act’, which despite their obvious quality, is evidently untrue. If they can shake the shackles of the Kings of Leon comparisons, then Eyes of Vegas have the ability to be a big player on the Irish music scene in the not too distant future
