Quiet Lights have announced a special livstream concert which aims to shine a light on the new wave of Irish and International folk, traditional, and experimental talent this Sunday (December 6). This special concert features the unique partnership of Iarla Ó Lionáird and Steve Cooney while Cork singer-songwriter Marlene Enright and Cork-based harpist, singer and fiddle player Aoife Blake complete the line up.

“Quiet Lights are thrilled to be working with close friends and partners the Cork Opera House to showcase these three acts, all at different stages in their career. Aoife Blake is a sensational traditional musician with a bright future ahead of her, Marlene Enright has released work that has gained her national and international attention and award nominations, and Iarla O’Lionaird & Steve Cooney are internationally renowned masters of their craft, known the world over as pivotally important musicians in Irish traditional and contemporary music.” says Quiet Lights founder, Jonathan Pearson.

I was particularly happy to see Steve recognised with an unprecedented four RTE Radio One Folk Awards last week, which goes a small bit towards recognising his incalculable contribution to folk music in Ireland. We hope you join us on Sunday for this livestreamed event at 8pm.”

Tickets for the stream (€5) are available exclusively from DICE FM. See corkoperahouse.ie for more details. Event link: https://tinyurl.com/y2bzh79o
