12th Gathering Traditional Festival announced

Gleneagles will play host to the 12th Gathering Tradition Festival in Killarney this March when it returns in the GlenEagles hotel.

There will as ever be a clever mix of concers, céilís, workshops and sessions which makes The Gathering a unique showpiece festival which is run in conjunction with Fáilte Ireland.

The Festival will take place March 2nd to 6th 2011 and will feature concerts from new and emerging trad performers and will include performances by Christy Leahy, Caoimhin Valley, Full Set, Lumiere, Jeremy Spencer, Sean Leahy, Tim O’Shea & Friends, Coscán, John Wynne, John McEvoy, Paudie O’Connor and Jacinta McEvoy.

Also performing over the weekend in the concert part of the festival are De Danann featuring Eleanor Shanley, Shaskeen, Seán Potts, Fidil, The Glacken Brothers, Noel Hill, Guidewires, John Carty and Brian Rooney and many more.

There will be Céilís and education and masterclasses and dance workshops for beginners to advances and instrument workshops and vocal workshops too.
