Coast to Coast: Tea and Toast 2013After  a late night editing, the Dublin team dug in deep, took their weary bones out of bed, questioned the logic of for some building a helmet out of Johnston Mooney and O’Brien bread. The strains of all the hard work was setting in, but a few hours sleep and the guys were back at it.

With a full gig in Whelans that night to worry about, we kept the Whelans sessions light on numbers to ensure we could comfortably get through all the great music we were about to see. First up was Dying Embers, with their harmonica intro and trilby laden lead singer. They dropped a soulful number on us that revitalised our energies for the day. We had the pleasure of nabbing Niamh and Darcy from Ham Sandwich to come in an play ‘Models’ for us upstairs in the brisk air of the smoking area. Niamh’s vocals sounding as sweet as ever.

Heritage Centre played a fantastically dreamy number called ‘The Pros and Cons of Cowardice’ followed swiftly by Eric McGrath‘s feel good number ‘Ripples Into Waves’ to lift everyone’s spirit. The Statics ensured any lingering thoughts of tiredness we’re long forgotten with a fantastic rendition of ‘As I See It’ and the Coast to Coast: Tea and Toast sessions aspect came to a close with the short and sweet ditty by Modern India called ‘Home Song’.

Each and every act who dropped in over the weekend was a pleasure to work with an made our lives infinitely easy. We hope you like the music and the videos which were all shot on a Nokia Lumia 920. If you enjoyed there videos which were shot entirely on Nokia Lumia 920’s, you can support Down Syndrome Ireland and put yourself in with a chance of winning a phone worth around €700 (unlocked). Every €5 donation puts you in the draw for a phone, so a €20 donation is four entries. Please do support our efforts of recording, editing and publishing 40 music videos in one weekend for charity. Share the music, share the love.
