The Winter Passing have shared new single Patience Please ahead of their headline show in Whelan’s on October 3rd. Patience Please is the follow-up to Original Sin, the first glimpse of the Dublin outfit’s second album set for release in 2020.

Patience, Please is a song about navigating loss, grief, regret and reflecting on those feelings now that you’re old enough to understand them,” says singer Kate Flynn.

The single is an emotional tribute to their grandmother Kate and Rob Flynn of the band’s grandmother Anne Flynn who passed away in August 2018.

The song represents the fear and concern towards losing someone close to you, something that is inevitable in life but often incredibly hard to comprehend or analyse in real time…The line ‘it was only in a dream’ that repeats throughout the song really came from that moment, after a 5 minute window of shock in the studio became the focal point for the song sonically. Of all the songs we’ve ever written with The Winter Passing, this one cuts the deepest for me.” says her brother and bassist/singer Rob.

We caught up with Rob recently to talk about Original Sin, Patience Please and their plans for the future. Read the interview here.
