whenyoung return to Ireland this week for 3 shows ahead of the release of their debut EP ‘Given Up’ (Nov 9).

Aoife Power (Vocals/Bass), Niall Burns (Guitar), Andrew Flood (Drums) have been supporting The Vaccines on their European tour and will follow up their Irish dates by supporting Blossoms around the UK this November.

The EP features four tracks, including title-track Given Up, previous single Heaven On Earth and their much lauded cover version of The Cranberries Dreams and unheard track Sleeper, which showcases, on the surface at least, a new side to the group.

In a recent interview with us, Aoife explained that, while Sleeper is a much quieter song than we may be used to, it’s actually representative of a lot of their material that we are yet to hear.

“…quite a few of our songs are actually slower and more emotive. I guess, when we’ve normally only got 30-40mins in front of a crowd, we want to keep it upbeat. That’s why we’re really looking forward to working on our album, so that we can expand the palette and show both sides to people.”

whenyoung’s ‘Given Up’ EP is out November 9.
