Double Ivor Novello Award winner and Mercury Music Prize nominee, VILLAGERS, will be headlining the lineup in the city of Derry for Music City 2016. It’s the 4th year of the festival and this year it’s running from July 4th – 10th 2016. Over the 7 days music will be performed in the city’s squares, neighbourhoods, venues, shops, pubs and clubs.

Villagers will play the opening night concert in The Glassworks which is also scheduled to host shows by SOAK with support from Saint Sister on July 8th and The Willis Clan on July 9th. Girls Names are coming to Cultùrlann Ui Chanàin on July 7th, The Strypes will play Guildhall on July 9th with ExMagician, Wood Burning Savages and The Bonnevilles.

St. Augustines Church will have David Kitt and Malojian. Overhead The Albatross will play the venues as will R.S.A.G. Renown pianist Ruth McGinley will perform a special concert in The Playhouse on July 10th iwth Niall O’Sullivan on trumpet. Saxophonist Gerard McChrystal will play for the 4th times at the festival.

Coinciding with Foyle Maritime Festival, some of Ireland’s finest bands, musicians and singer-songwriters will perform on stages in some of the main streets and squares including Guildhall Square and The Craft Village over the weekend of July 8th – 10th.  SILENCES, BEST BOY GRIP, OUR KRYPTON SON, BEAUTY SLEEP, EVE BELLE, THE CLAMEENS, PADDY NASH & THE HAPPY ENCHILADAS, STRENGTH and TRIGGERMAN are among the 130+ artists that will perform at the various concerts throughout the seven days of Music City 2016

Bars including Masons, The Grand Central and Bennigans will host late night shows from acts like Bitch Falcon, Swords, Rainy Boy Sleep and Foyleside Shopping centre will have performances throughout the weekend. Most events are free of charge and family friends and tickets for the shows with a cover charge are on sale now at The Millennium Forum Box Office and online at wegottickets.com.
