The National have annunced the first wave of support acts for their two-day mini festival in Donnybrook Stadium next summer.

You didn’t need to be clairvoyant to realise that one of those additions would be our very own Lisa Hannigan, who will appear on the first night in Donnybrook, along with San Francisco singer-songwriter Jay Sam.

Appearing on day two with The National in Donnybrook Stadium will be Villagers. Conor O’Brien’s crew should have new material out by then, with early noises from within the camp indicating it could be Villagers’ finest effort to date.

Villagers will be joined on the bil by New Zealand’s Aldous Harding and ex Vampire Weekend man Rostam (Batmanglij), who released his debut solo album ‘Half-Light’ this September.
