A host of local stars are set to play a Sugar Club charity tribute gig in honour of Levon Helm, iconic drummer and vocalist with The Band and actor, who passed away in 2012.

The gig will take place on April the 17th, a couple of days before the 3rd anniversary of Helm’s death, with all proceeds appropriately going to the Irish Cancer Society. The gig will feature a host of local heroes and GoldenPlec favourites as well as some Helm themed acts, as follows:

The Minutes

Gavin Glass

The Lost Brothers

Graham Hopkins (The Frames) and Colm Quearney (ex Lir)

Left, Right & Centre (feat Ed Deane and Noel Bridgeman)

The Group (Last Waltz Tribute Act)

More acts are expected to be announced over the coming weeks, with each to perform a range of hits from throughout Helm’s career. Tickets are priced at €17.50 and available from The Sugar Club, here.

If that impressive selection of musicians isn’t enough to lure you in, there’s a full hour and a half’s footage of last year’s show available to watch here:
