Home grown electro-indie duo, Le Boom, have just released the first taster track from their upcoming EP, set for release on the 3rd of May.

Christy Leech (vocals and keys) and Aimie Mallon (drums) spent 2018 perfecting their infectiously energetic live sets at festivals around the world, culminating with a sold out headline gig at District 8 last November. The release of their upcoming four track EP, ‘All Of My Highs’, is a new venture for the group.

Be There For You debuted yesterday and is four minutes of well oiled synth-pop produced to perfection. The new offering has all the trademarks of a Le Boom track – Leech’s falsetto, Mallon’s tinkling percussion and shimmering rhythms. They’ve packed a lot in to this track without crowding it out.

The inspiration for the track came about after the band played Spanish festival, Primavera, last year – After our show we caught the end of Peggy Gou’s set on a small stage down near the beach, just as the sun was going down,” says Leech. “It was probably a mixture of my post-show adrenaline comedown and Peggy’s class tunes but I found myself having a moment of ‘oh fuck, life is great’ – when I got home I decided to write a tune with a vibe that would remind me of that night.”

With two more singles to come, a litany of festival appearances and a full run of Irish dates yet to be announced, the stage is set for Le Boom to have a cracking year. Catch them at Irish festivals It Takes A Village, Life and Indiependence – you won’t regret it. Building on the success of 2018, it’s onwards and upwards for this pair.
