Drunkenboat are releasing a new Christmas song, It is their first song as a four piece and is a move in a more poppy direction for the band with a guest vocal from Diarmuid MacDiarmada.

DONOVAN RELEASES CHRISTMAS SINGLE FOR BARNARDOS WITH HIS 88 YEARS ‘YOUNG’ MOTHER IN LAW
Legendary folk troubadour Donovan has written a Christmas song entitled “Christmas Time Is Here Again” which believe it or not he has written with his mother in law, Violetta.
All proceeds from the single will go to Barnardos children’s charity of Ireland and the World. The song is available to buy now on Itunes.
BOWLING FOR SOUP’S JARET & ERIK CONFIRM IRISH ACOUSTIC DATE
Bowling For Soup’s frontman Jaret Reddik and bass player Erik Chandler have announced a one-off show where they will play acoustic at The Academy, Dublin on April 6th 2011. This is a chance to see the lads from BFS in a unique show especially if you didn’t catch them in October.
Tickets priced €25 including booking fee go on sale on Friday 10th December at 9am. Over 14’s welcome. There are also VIP tickets for €45 which include a meet and greet for a picture with them and an opportunity to hear their new album “Fishing For Woos”, Only 50 VIP tickets in total will be available via the band’s website Bowlingforsoup.com from 9am on Wednesday 8th December.

The King Blues have revealed they will play a headline date at The Academy, Dublin on April 26th 2011.
Tickets to see these Soul / Punk / Ska merchants are €16 and go on sale this Thursday 9th December from Ticketmaster.ie.
This is an over 14’s show, no alcohol will be served in the main room and doors are at 6.30pm.
The Beat Poets announce Christmas show
Belfast’s blitzing and frenzied rockers The Beat Poets have announced a Christmas show in The Limelight, Belfast 10 days before Christmas.
The gig will be on December 15th 2010 in The Limelight, Belfast, doors at 8pm and entrance costs £6. Support on the night comes from The Q, The Red Admirals, B.O.Y., Jumping Orbit.

Surfer Blood set to headline Phantom’s First Friday at The Academy on March 4th
A bit of advanced information for you all. We are told that in March 2011, Florida five-piece Surfer Blood will be coming to Dublin to headline Phantom’s First Friday.
They are only just after finishing a support set on three nights with Interpol in The Olympia and will return for a headline show in The Academy on March 4th 2011. Joined on the night by the phantom DJ’s and some of the hottest up and coming Irish acts it’s sure to be a massive gig.
