The ninth edition of the annual folk, roots & indie festival is set to take place next week  between the 23rd and the 28th of October.

The good people of Sligo will be spoiled for choice this October Bank Holiday Weekend when Midlake, Villagers and Imelda May will join over 300 performers at Sligo Live 2013.

These will include Planxty legends Liam O Flynn, Andy Irvine, Paddy Glackin and Donal Lunny, aka LAPD, Dervish, Pete Molinari, Common Tongues, The Young Folk, DJ Kormac and Oddsocks, amongst others.

There’s no need to take your wellies out of retirement because the shows will all take place at indoor venues across the town. Though some of the more popular events are ticketed, over 80% of the festival line-up is free of charge.

In addition to the main program, there’ll be lots of side events to keep festival goers busy including the Fiddler of Dooney Competition and the awesome sounding World Air Fiddle Competition.

Tickets and information on the full programme are available at www.sligolive.ie
