Irish post-punk quintet MELTS have shared new synth laden single Maelstrom on the band’s label Mother Sky. Maelstrom was produced by Daniel Fox of Girl Band who is fast becoming one of Ireland’s best producers.

On the track frontman Eoin Kenny says: “Maelstrom is about a storm that sweeps through a town or a world one day and causes an irreversible change to the order of things. The song is also written from the point of view of someone caught in currents, beyond their own making and understanding and the frustrations felt by someone who feels powerless against the effects of the upheaval.”

Melts play 6 dates in the UK this December including London, Manchester and Glasgow before returning home for a headline show in The Workman’s on December 16th.

Tour dates:
December 7th – Prince Albert, Brighton

December 9th – Hyde Park Book Club, Leeds
December 10th – YES, Manchester
