Matt Maltese has shared the first glimpse of his upcoming second record which was recorded, produced and mixed by Maltese in his bedroom studio in Elephant & Castle, London.

“It’s about the disgusting, absurd force of love. When the feeling is so all consuming that you’d happily crouch over and be nothing but a chair for them to sit on.”

Curl Up & Die sees Matt Maltese on production duties for the first time and is another slice of sarcastic heartbreak from the apprentice of high romance.

Commenting on his approach to songwriting in an interview with GoldenPlec in June, 2018 Maltese told us.

“It’s very honest. It’s all the kind of bits that make me look pathetic but I feel like that’s what I wanted to do, an egoless album as much as possible and to not worry about what I come across as, which is very much me. With some humour and self deprecation added in for good measure.”

We were on hand at Matt Maltese’ performance in The Workman’s Club in November 2018 where he more than impressed with an intimate, jovial performance.
