Dublin’s self-proclaimed agrosoul outfit BARQ have shared their second single That Thing You Love ahead of the release of their debut EP later this year.

The group features Newpark Jazz School graduate Stephen McHale on guitar and former Hozier backing-singer on vocals. The line-up is completed by in-demand session musicians Neil Dorrington and Tommy Gray on bass and drums respectively.

Barq played their debut show at one of our GoldenBeck shows in association with TXFM DJ Claire Beck, with support from up-and-coming hip hop act Kojaque and a special appearance by old school hip hop outfit Mixtapes From The Underground.

They wowed The Workman’s Club on the night with Jess Kav’s powerful voice instantly captivating. She has oodels of star quality and if Barq can continue to provide her with tracks such as Gentle Kind Of Lies to place her voice over, then there is every reason to believe that this group has the potential to go places.

Their debut single Gentle Little Lies, caught our attention with its distinctive sound and we have high hopes for their debut EP set for release later this year.

That Thing You Love, BARQ’s second single is launched upstairs in Whelan’s on May 29th.
