Hot on the heels of news that their second album ‘A Picture Of Good Health’ is due out 20th September, via the band’s own label ‘Afghan Moon’. Life, have shared a video for Hollow Thing, the second single to be drawn from the album and announced a tour, including a date at The Academy 2 this December.

“This video is the soul laid bare,” says singer Mez Green. “Fading memories projected onto aging skin but held forever in the photos of the past. Time melts like butter on a fat cats tongue, filling the mouth with guilty pleasure. It lasts for mere seconds before turning into painful emptiness. Dissolving like spoilt acid in the dark corners of an evil morning.”

A Picture of Good Health was produced by Luke Smith (Foals) and mixed by Claudius Mittendorfer (Parquet Courts).

A Picture of Good Health is not a collage of work but rather a snapshot of time; our time and the time of those around us. It’s political, but in a personal way. It’s a body of work that explores and examines the band’s inner-selves through a precise period; a period that has brought pain, loneliness, blood, guts, single parenthood, depression and the need for survival and love. It is the sense and need for belonging that is the resounding end note!”

Life at The Academy 2, Wednesday December 4th. Tickets €13.00 Inc. booking fee on sale Thursday July 25th at 10am from Ticketmaster.
