Irish soul band LaGracia return with Say their first release since 2015’s Don’t You Ever Leave a bluesy RnB track which showcased vocalist Gráinne McCarthy’s soulful vocals.

The band’s new single Say borrows heavily from guitarist and co-writer Kevin Healy’s love of rock music – Red Hot Chilli Peppers in particular whose influenced is stamped all over the track from the skeletal arpeggios Healy employs to the wah pedal guitar introduced towards the end of the track.

Singer Grainne McCarthy also draws upon the influence of RnB as she delivers tightly orchestrated vocal harmonies over the track’s grooving drums – both her elaborately layered vocals and the tracks rhythmic motif call to mind  Solange’s ‘A Seat at the Table’.

Say comes ahead of ‘No One’s Fool’, a four-track debut EP the band have set for an 8 August 2021 release date.
