US singer-songwriter Joan Shelley is bringing her warm brand of country music to Dublin for an intimate show in the East Side Tavern.

Shelley came to prominence round these parts thanks to a sensational performance on Later with Jools Holland. Her 2017 self-titled album was produced by Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy and features his son on drums.

Shelley has frequently worked with Bonnie Prince Billy, most recently on her 2018 collection ‘Rivers and Vessels’ on which she covers Nick Drake, Dolly Parton (with the aforementioned royalty) and even takes the piss out of Donald Trump by changing the lyrics of J.J. Cale’s Magnolia to reflect upon the imaginary massacre at Bowling Green.

Joan Shelley – East Side Tavern October 4th. Tickets €15.00.
