MCD have provided us with some information on the Greenday @ Marlay park gig that might help you plan your journey just a little better. This is for the GREENDAY @ Marlay Park on June 23rd.

There are two entrances to the event, one on Grange Road for Pedestrian access only and one on College Road for access to car parks and concert site. Patrons are advised to be in the ground at least 45 minutes before show time. Times following are subject to change.

Carparks Open: 3pm
Gates Open: 5pm
First Act: 6.10pm
No Queuing Before 5.00pm

Following consultation with the Gardai the following arrangements have been made.

TRANSPORT
PLEASE USE PUBLIC TRANSPORT AS THERE IS LIMITED PARKING AVAILABLE AT THE VENUE.

DUBLIN BUS
Dublin Bus will run a direct service to Marlay Park departing from and returning to Georges Quay in the City Centre (service will commence 1 hour before gates open).

The 75 bus leaves from the Square Tallaght and travels through Knocklyon, Firhouse, Rathfarnham (Nutgrove Shopping Centre) and on to Ballinteer Shopping Centre. This route also comes from Dún Laoghaire taking in York Road, Bakers Corner, Deansgrange, Stillorgan dual carriageway, Stillorgan village, Kilmacud, Dundrum, and Ballinteer Shopping Centre, the recommended stop for the venue, a 10-minute walk to the pedestrian entrance for the venue.

The 48A departs from the City Centre (Hawkins St). This is a very frequent service leaving approximately every 10 minutes (less on Sundays). It stops outside Pearse Street station, which is convenient for any ticket holders travelling by Dart from Howth, etc. It then goes on through Merrion Sq., Stephen’s Green, Adelaide Rd, Ranelagh, Milltown, Dundrum Village and on to the terminus at Ballinteer Shopping Centre, a 10 minute walk to the pedestrian entrance for the venue.

APPROACH ROUTES TO MARLAY PARK
Garda Traffic management plan, An Garda Siochana will have a traffic management plan in operation.

PLAN YOUR APPROACH TO MARLAY PARK BASED ON THE FOLLOWING:

· Traffic and parking delays are inevitable you are strongly advised to use public transport or carpool.

· We strongly recommend you plan your journey in advance allowing at least an extra 3 hours travel time to and from the venue.

· Plan your route in advance and check the AA Roadwatch website for reports on traffic, road works, delays, etc. on your route

· For the latest live show day traffic updates telephone AA Roadwatch 1550 131 811 (AA Roadwatch premium rates apply) or tune into RTÉ 2fm.

· Traffic from M1, N2, N3, N4, N7, N81 travel southbound on the M50 to junction 12 or 13 then the first exit off roundabout and follow traffic signs to concert car parks.

· Traffic from M11 / N11 take M50 to junction 14 for Sandyford and follow traffic signs to concert car parks.

· Traffic from N11 and South Dublin via Leopardstown Road, Sandyford Industrial Estate and Green Route to concert car parks.

· Traffic from Dublin city centre travel via N81 to Terenure crossroads then Rathfarnham Road to Grange Road, College Road and concert car parks.

· Alternative route from Dublin City centre via Ranelagh, Clonskeagh and Goatstown then follow traffic signs to concert car park. The approach routes will be signposted.

SPECIAL NEEDS

Special needs pedestrians use entrance on Grange Rd.

Special needs parking is in the College Road car park please note this is quite a distance from the concert site.

· Please dress appropriately and always be prepared for the Irish weather… bring your wellington boots!

· Always check the weather forecast before setting off.

· Please note that under 16s must be accompanied by parent/guardian.

· Respect the property and privacy of residents in the vicinity of Marlay Park.

· For your own safety please co-operate with stewards and Gardaí and follow any loudspeaker announcements.

· For your own and the safety of others please move slowly and quietly when exiting the Concert site and co-operate with stewards’ directions.

· Note that catering and bar facilities are available inside the venue.

· Photo proof of age is required for sale of alcohol.

· Note that official merchandising will be available inside the grounds only.

· Note that the concert is being recorded for visual and audio broadcast.

· Note location of Information Point, Meeting Point, First Aid Areas and Water Points.

· Wear bright clothes or luminous armbands if you are walking in the dark.

DO NOT:
· Bring garden furniture, deckchairs, fold up chairs or shooting sticks.

· Do not park illegally. Towing in operation. Please follow signs to carparks.

· Do not buy tickets from unofficial sources.

· Do not bring umbrellas, flag poles or alcohol into the grounds. These will be confiscated at the ticket barriers.

· Do not rush the exits after the concert.

· Do not bring cameras or recording equipment into the grounds.

· Do not crowd surf or mosh as you will be rmoved from the venue without refund.

Available from official ticket outlet inside Marlay Park accessible from both entrances.
