Dublin based country rockers Mongrel State are not what you’ve come to expect from Irish country music. With Argentinian, Spanish, Italian and Irish members, Mongrel State blend the flavours of their various nation’s rhythms, sounds and at times languages, into the Nashville soundscape.

Mongrel State quickly gained a reputation in Eirecana and country music circles as being one of the most promising live acts around thanks to the intense on stage performances of singer/bassist Darren Flynn, and the varied and accomplished guitar work of singer/guitarist Claudio Mercante.

Their debut album ‘Mestizo’ was produced by Irish country music heavyweight Gavin Glass, and features the singles How Many More Times and Stray Dogs (which they performed, live on ‘The Ray D’Arcy Show‘ last Saturday).

Mongrel State launch 'Mestizo' in Whelan's on Saturday 30th, January, with support from Alright You Restless. Tickets €10 available here. Full tour details below.
