Before Contour take to the stage a Longitude (this weekend) and KnockanStockan (next weekend) - we popped along and knocked on the door of their rehearsal space to see what kind of space they rehearse in. And to find out their thoughts on KnockanStockan itself.
"We’ve both played in rock ’n' roll bands at KnockanStockan before electronica and Contour; we’ve had the most amazing times there."
"It’s a deadly little festival. It’s small and intimate - a really personal vibe. You’ll never lose your mates. It’s gonna be sweet."
"The area is amazing, it’s a gorgeous setting, with the Blessington Lakes backdrop. It looks really pretty with loads of little nooks and crannies to hang out in."
"The lads organise it really well - it’s for musicians, run by musicians."
"There’s no commercial claws. It’ll have fucking deadly music, sound people and a stunning venue."
"It’s good to sometimes veer away from the electronic and hear some bongos in a yurt by the lake."
"Last time I was there they had a craft beer brewery, it was like home brew, that was cool."
"There are so many deadly Irish bands that’ll be there, you just don’t see them on other line-ups."
"I’m looking forward to seeing a few acts. I’m mad into Bitch Falcon at the moment, they are deadly. Otherwise, Leo Drezden, Warehouse, New Secret Weapon, Rusangano Family - there’s just so many."
Contour play KnockanStockan at 8pm on Saturday (25th July) on the Circus Tent.
