After a five-year break away from the spotlight, Ham SandwicH are back and shining brightly with their third album: 'Stories From The Surface'.

With the album sitting at number one in the charts, the return is a welcome one.

To celebrate, the band headed to Windmill Lane Studios with Independent.ie and chatted to Barry Egan about the stories behind their emotive lyrics, crazy shoe-sniffing fans and what drives them to move forward.

They also treated us to a stripped-back and delicate acoustic cover of Talking Heads This Must Be The Place.
