2016 continues to ferry the great and good of rock history to heaven (hopefully) with Mott The Hoople drummer Dale Griffin and Eagles founding member Glenn Frey - the voice behind hits such as Take It Easy, Tequila Sunrise and New Kid In Town (he also supplied Beverly Hills Cop with The Heat Is On) - both passing away. Also passing since last we spoke was R‘N’B singer Clarence Reid, aka Blowfly, one of the forefathers of rap. It has gotten to the point where if you see a photo of an elder musical statesman, you fear the worst.

New Secret Weapon - Plec Picks 2016

So, what have we been listening to this week then? Well we continue to use distorted guitars as hot water bottles for our ears, but we have dropped some new and classic hip hop in the form of Mr. Lif and Chance The Rapper. Ireland is represented by All Tvvins, Pranks, Bagels and New Secret Weapon.
