GoldenPlec are delighted to present the premiere of Plec Picks 2015 act The Eskies' debut album ‘After The Sherry Went Round’.

The album is a raucous fanfare of folk, swamp blues and unquenchable merriment, paired with brain-burrowing melodies and witty lyrics, delivered at breakneck speed.

Like the finest Western, it has taken the Dublin quintet several years of hard labour on the road to reach this point in their development, but boy, have they arrived in style.

2015 has seen The Eskies profile raised significantly thanks to a gruelling touring schedule including opening for The Hot Sprockets in Vicar Street recently. ‘After The Sherry Went Round’ captures the frantic glee of The Eskies live performances but more importantly highlights their considerable song writing skills. From the sinister sway of Eloise through to the jaunty Jesus Don’t Save Me and the driving Jailhouse Sun, The Eskies have delivered a fascinating blend of fun-fuelled folk.

The Eskies are appearing on The Saturday Night Show this week and 'After The Sherry Went Round' is available to pre-order on iTunes now.

We recommend that you consume ‘After The Sherry Went Round’ irresponsibly.
