Most of your memories of the late-90s/early-00s are no doubt plagued by repetitive electronic beats and generic non-lyrics about partying and getting shit-faced, all thanks to the musical villainy of DJs like Mark McCabe and The Vengaboys.
Electric Picnic are now giving those two legends/monsters of your past due recognition for their brief stint of obscene popularity back in that dark period of Irish music history, with a special #90sPowerParty, featuring McCabe and The Vengaboys taking place on the festival’s Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
McCabe says he’s delighted to be taking part in the tribute, which marks the fifteenth anniversary of his megahit Maniac 2000, and that “The 90s Power Party will be a fantastic addition to the Picnic, offering festival goers a full immersion in what will be the ultimate 90s experience.”
