// Your new single ‘Get On It’ was recorded live, what inspired that decision?

It captures a better feel when all four are in the room together at the same time. It’s all we know.

// You guys have a very distinctive sound, which we hear is being changed up on the new material. What can fans expect?

Less backbeat – more backbone.

// Who are your favourite Irish artists at the moment?

Gav and Thee Icons, Engine Alley, Death In The Sickroom, Squarehead.

// You guys are known for putting on kick ass festival shows. Do you have a favourite festival or festival moment you’d like to share?

Castlepalooza. Stage times are tight, we were given 30 mins to play. Pressure? No, we did it in 29. The gauntlet is lain.

// The last text message you sent is your next album title. What is it?

‘Yeh Ma ok, I’ll be there.’

// Send us a photo and explain…

During the long hours of mixing for ‘Get On It’, Dave proclaimed “I’ve made me a Pac- Man!” We all said “That’s great Dave! Hey Alwyn would you turn down the bass in that mix?”

Dave

// Hows the rest of the year looking for the band – what plans are afoot?

Single release of ‘Get On It’ on Thursday, recording next single real soon and releasing it before the end of year.

// You can only hear one song for the rest of your life – what is it?

Keeping with the minimalist vibes I’ll pick ‘In C’ by Terry Reilly, a bit commercial I know but hey.

// The one song that you always bust out at a house party?

Anything from the Beaches soundtrack.

The Statics play our ‘GoldenPlec & Claire Beck Presents…’ night at The Workmans on 23rd July to launch their new single Get On It.
