We’re psyched out to premiere the debut single from A Clatter and Drone.

The Day That Broke Winter is an enigmatic piece of work that’s conjured into life with a whisper and gradually erupts to move through its stirring, subtly-evolving instrumental movements.

Strongly inspired by the contemporary Irish folk and trad scene, the band take inspiration from psychedelia and electronica with thematic influence drawn from psychology and philosophy.

Refined over the course of a year and recorded on analogue equipment, according to the band, the song is a celebration of the death, rebirth and growth of the psyche.

The track is being released alongside a crowdfunding campaign to fund A Clatter and Drone’s debut LP, ‘Empty Buggy’, to which you can contribute here.

Watch the atmospheric folk horror style video for The Day That Broke Winter below; shot in a single day on the spring equinox on Ghoul Farm, Co. Wicklow.
