Tonight at a packed Vicar Street. 7 of the 10 nominees turned up and played their hearts out for an appreciative crowd.

Villagers ran out the big winners on the night with their album ‘{Awayland}’ taking home the coveted title of Best Irish Album 2013 and a whopping ten grand in the back pocket.

The night was filled with quality music from Girls Names opening up the night with a wall of sound, to the intimate acoustic set from Bell X1 to the mighty Villagers wielding their gorgeous tunes in such a tight and perfected manner. Mano Le Tough gave a vibrant electronic set while Lisa O’Neill’s cute demeanour won over the crowd as she seemed ultimately humbled to be in attendance as a nominee.

Little Green Cars suffered the most on the night with drum stands falling, fire alarm breaking up their second track and the bassists strap continually falling off. The crowd giving them such support through a difficult set.

Original Rudeboys walked away with the Irish Song Of The Year for Never Gonna Walk Away. They took home the title and a cheque for three thousand euro.
