Good friends of GoldenPlec, Boy Lights Fire, are back with their new video for single, ‘Atalanta’. The guys teamed up with LeTisser, Ireland’s leading visual artists, to create a music video and projection technique that has never been attempted before in Ireland. The projection technique employs the use of 4 layers of translucent mesh material, the band are then positioned in between these layers and the projections/animations are then played on top. Lead vocalist and guitarist George Mercer comments: “The technique that was used for this video is unique in that it has never before been used in Ireland and we’re definitely very lucky to be the subject of such an exciting project.”

The band will be celebrating the inventive video with a video/single launch in Dublin’s Twisted Pepper this coming Saturday, 18th of August. They will be supported on the night by We Arrive Alive, a truly promising upcoming act with the night ending with a special DJ set. The video has just been released and will be shown on the launch night. As an extra addition to what already promises to be a fantastic night of music, a live demonstration of the visual projection work used in the video will be incorporated into the live set.

Boy Lights Fire began in 2009 ,while attending college in Dundalk IT, and they have been beavering away and playing gigs up and down the country ever since. The highlights include appearances at Electric Picnic, Hard Working Class Heroes and Temple House Festival, not to mention multiple sold-out headline shows at The Spirit Store. This shows that the band are gaining momentum and this video wishes to be the big push for a band that are showing immense promise. The band also had the pleasure of supporting great acts like Jape, Fionn Regan and And So I Watch You From Afar.

On the video, drummer, Kevin Mc Donnell remarked; “This is a really exciting time for us as a band, we’re working really hard at it and this collaboration with Visual Artists – Le Tissier, Cashmere Media and director Ros Madigan has worked really well. We’re all really happy with the result and can’t wait to show it to everyone!”
