New Venue for Dublin : The Grand Social

With the launch of the HWCH 2010 lineup we noticed that alongside The Workmans Club and The Mercantile, there was one more venue we had never seen before. The Grand Social.

We did a bit of digging and it appears that Pravda, Lower Lower Liffey St, Dublin 1 has been transformed into a brand new 300 capacity venue. We know that No Disko is going to be moving its operations into it, so that’s a big new signing for the brand spanking new venue.

The only other information we could find on it publicly is (thanks to hotpress) which states it’s 16ft x 11ft stage similar to whelans, 150 capacity seated, 250/300 standing.  Hard disc live recordings and 3 camera’s for dvd recording will be on offer and a niche clubroom for DJ’s. Doors open official on September 11th.

We expect to see a raft of gig announcements for this venue in the near future.
