Fake. Delusional. Don’t waste your money.

  2. youarenotasupreme says:

Karen was never a member of the Supremes. She was just a backup singer for the great Mary Wilson. Stop claiming that you are a Supreme and deceiving people!

  3. Thats what was said, Former Supreme, Mary Wilson. We are not claiming Karen was a supreme.

Why the negativity on the act? We just publish the news, why are they not liked?

  4. Bubca says:

Grammatically, it says that the group is ” led by Kaaren Ragland, former Supremes member,”. The negativity comes from true Supreme fans being sick and tired of this group billing themselves as Supremes and Kaaren claiming that she was once a Supreme. Her only claim to Supreme fame is that she once sang back-up to Mary Wilson at a time that Mary herself was no longer a Supreme. The fans just want a little more truth in advertising.

  5. In this case it is not them claiming to be, It was my error, comma right beside the full stop, I apologize.

As per received Press release, They only claim to be “The Sound of the Supremes” nothing more, and only claim that Mary Wilson is a former member, nothing else. If it’s happened before, there is nothing I can do about that. I’ve cleaned up the passage to hopefully read more clearly.

  6. TheSupremes says:

LOL. One more time… Kaaren Ragland has nothing to do (and never has) with The Supremes and/or with founding Supremes member Mary Wilson (with The Supremes throughout their entire tenure, 1961-1977) while Mary was in the “Motown” group. Kaaren Ragland was hired as a background singer for Mary Wilson’s solo career after The Supremes officially disbanded. Kaaren and her group are fakes. Also, you’d be hard pressed to find anyone at Motown who endorses this joke of a group. Kaaren Ragland is delusional and puts out her own damn press releases. Got it now?

  7. Dr. E. says:

These were the “official” members of the Supremes:
    Florence Ballard (1959–1967)
    Betty McGlown (1959–1960)
    Mary Wilson (1959–1977)
    Diana Ross (1959–1970)
    Barbara Martin (1960–1962)
    Cindy Birdsong (1967–1972, 1973–1976)
    Jean Terrell (1970–1973)
    Lynda Laurence (1972–1973)
    Scherrie Payne (1973–1977)
    Susaye Greene (1976–1977)

Is Kaaren’s name above? No! Please get your facts straight before misleading the public!

  8. Dr. E, Long since edited for a typo well before your comment. Please relax, we get the point, The article was amended and the comma replaced for what grammatically could be mistaken. We at no point are claiming her to be a member of the supremes.

This is end of discussion as to whether she is a member of the supremes or not. We have ascertained that she isn’t. All further comments will be removed.

  9. TheSupremes says:

Supremes fans are the best! That’s why we don’t put up with crap like this.

  10. Yes Yes we get it, There is no crap, Just an announcement of an event. You are sensationalising a nothing which I’ve already explained. Move on please.

  11. Bubca says:

Sir, before you end the discussion, may I point out that your correction only made it worse? Now it says “The only group endorsed by Motown, led by Kaaren Ragland and featuring Mary Wilson (Former Supremes member) will be playing The George in Dublin.” Now it implies that the group that will be performing is led by Kaaren and features Mary Wilson.

If I were writing it, I would say, The tribute group, Sounds of the Supremes is led by Kaaren Ragland who once sang back-up for Mary Wilson, who was an original Supreme.

  12. With the greatest of respect, as a biased fan you are reading it and interpreting it how you want to. I will remove the endorsed by Motown as that is debatable despite being on the Press Release but The bands as far as I can ascertain ARE led by Karen and thus It does not require changing. This is not the supremes anymore. This is a tribute act and as such can only be taken as immitation and not the original. I would think that is a given and if true fans of The Supremes were reading this they would not have an issue ascertaining that an acts called “The Sound of the Supremes” is immitation and nothing more.

  13. Bubca says:

Thank you for making the corrections above. It is much clearer now that the group is a tribute group and contains no members of the original band. The music of the Supremes is great and hopefully, the people of London will enjoy this tribute show. Thank you again for your speed in correcting the original report

  14. TheSupremes says:

    Amen.

  15. Wil T says:

There is one error in this list. Betty McGlown was never a Supreme. She was in the original group, The Primettes and was eventually replaced by Barbara Martin first as a Primette and then eventually as a Supreme for a short stint before she also quit the group. Barbara can be heard on “Meet the Supremes” album. She was gone by the time the group had their first big seller; “When The Lovelight Starts Shining Through His Eyes.”

  16. DetroitLives313 says:

Someone sent me this article and I must say it upset me to see that this woman is still out and about deceiving the public! She is not, was not and never will be A Supreme. She worked with Mary Wilson, the true Supreme briefly in the 80′s and has been carrying on this charade for all these years. Do not waste one hard earned dollar on this fake act. They could never get away with it in the States. It hurts me to know after all the years, all the tears and all the work Mary Wilson has put into keeping the legacy of the Supremes alive, this is the kind of garbage she gets as a thank you!

you got aht right you tell him

  19. Ross-p1 says:

This has now been communicated to Mary Wilson in the States – where this “act” is illegal. I’m sure our trading standards people would be interested too

  20. Right

@detroitlives313 – What are you even talking about, Have you read the article above. There is not a single mention to Mary Wilson anymore. There was a mistake grammer wise and due to people reading it incorrectly I have completely removed reference to her all together. I will say this for the final time as all further comments on this topic will be removed. THERE IS NO CLAIM THAT KAAREN WAS IN THE SUPREMES IN THIS ARTICLE.
This is just a news post about a gig that is taking place. Now children please get over it.

@Ross-p1 What exactly have you communicated to Mary Wilson, A link to an article that tells her that someone she formerly worked with at a point in her career is playing a gig in Dublin in a band called “The Sound of the Supremes” as I’m sure she is well aware. Honestly, what do you think you are doing wasting her or anyone’s time with this. It’s a news post about a gig, nothing more.

Now This comment made by myself is the last one, @Phyl’s comment is being removed for being unnecessarily abusive.
All further comments will be removed. This is not a debate as to who was a member of the supremes, This is a news post about a gig taking place in Dublin and nothing more.

  21. Ross-p1 says:

As an active campaigner for “Truth In Music” – which is currently moving its way through the statute books in the States, MIss Wilson has ASKED Supremes fans to keep her informed of this bogus group. Just to correct anything above, this act should not claim Mary Wilson was a part of it – SHE was actually in the group. She and we, simply do not wish the general public to be conned.

  22. Yes Yes thank you for continuing this pointless debate

    Final time

Typo, Fixed, Not claiming she was a part of the group. Nobody ever was. Rectified an hour after initial post

    Get the hell over it

  23. Sfhngboy says:

So I have to ask: How was the show? Is Missy Raagland still as delusional as ever, or has she received mental help yet?

  24. Mr. Bear says:

Are you saying this is some sort of Parasitic Relationship, Like someone exploiting the Talents & achievments of others?, My, My, Did Kaaren somehow learn this from Mary Wilson? I can’t Imagine
